How long does it take the redness to go away - females only?

After waxing hair/peach fuzz above your upper lip, how long does it take the redness to go away on it's own? I put a wet rag on top of it after finishing waxing, but I am not sure how long it takes for the redness to go away. He have plans tomorrow, and I really need the answer tonight. Thanks ladies!
