How to make sure my brother doesn't try to commit suicide again?

I know this may seem desperate im posting this on yahoo answers.I really feel pathetic tho.My brother was going to try to kill himself, but luckily(with the help of God) my mom got to him in time. He seems better now, I mean my brother and dad worked out the big problem, but im still really worried. my mom seems to be almost mad at him, and i cant understand why she just wont be kind to him. Ive bin hanging out with him and trying to maake him laf more, he seems to be kind of better, but does any1 no what i can do or make my parents to make sure he wont try or evn think about trying to hurt himself again?
